WORDS FROM OUR ADULT MEMBERS

At Dancenter, we believe dance is a lifelong journey that empowers you to stay active, express yourself creatively, and connect with like-minded individuals.

Many of our dancers have been with us for years. Some come driven by passion, others to find balance after a long day, and others to try something new.

But ultimately, they all become lifelong friends who embrace dance as an art form of expression.

Our classes are designed to welcome everyone, from beginners to seasoned dancers. Discover a space where Dance for All truly comes to life.

Meet Beata, Dancenter's Founding Adult Member

A pioneer of the Dancenter community, Beata has been an integral part of our family since 2007.

Fun Fact: As the very first adult to register when Dancenter opened, Beata proudly holds car number #001. Her dedication and enthusiasm have helped shape our studio into what it is today.

"I'm the member number #001. So I started from the very beginning we've been even before Dancenter. I started dancing when I was seven. It's been always a very important part of my life. When I moved to Vietnam, I was looking for a very good school. Finally one day someone recommended me Linh and I stayed ever since so I've been in Vietnam for 22. It's one of the reasons of I stayed for so long is Dancenter. So I really love it.

I love moving for me, life is all about moving. I love art and music. And an artistic expression. So that's why it became the passion of my life. I have so many beautiful memories and with different teachers because they passion from different countries different experiences. The yearly Dancenter show is very special to share with everyone and the energy of being on stage, the stress of being on stage, and the laughter that we share. Behind the curtain. It's beautiful."

Inspiring words from Minh Chau

Fun fact: Châu, a teen who was there from the very beginning of our school, totally rocked our first show. Now, she's all grown up and still a beloved part of our community. With her pretty smile, she brings a sweet energy to our studio!!!

"I was taking class at Dancenter when I was still a teenager, I took part in the Dancenter annual show and I joined back as an Adult. I like the community of DC. I stayed because I think the people that you get to connect with and especially with the show somehow after the show everyone becomes a lot closer. The Dancenter show is like an opportunity to keep doing what I like."

Words from the super inspiring and fantastic KEN!!

"Dancenter has been one of my favourite places in HCMC for the last 7 years I have lived here, with so, so, so many great memories and experiences!

I started dancing on and off from 16 years old but it wasn’t until coming to Vietnam in 2015 that I regularly started taking classes again. My first ever class was Contemporary with the wonderful John Huy. At that point I was very burnt out from work and having a positive outlet to distract me really helped me get through those tough times.

Dance is very special to me because it gives me a way to express myself creatively and athletically in ways I wouldn’t be able to in other forms and because of that, it is an incredibly empowering feeling for me. It also brings me such joy to be around people of so many talents and are passionate in this art form, which Dancenter has done a fantastic job at creating that vibe and environment. Dancenter has had teachers and dancers throughout the years that are not only so amazingly skilled but also genuinely kind-hearted and beautiful, and it has been a joy and humbling experience to be a part of that community."

Meet Katerine - A new dancer since 2024

She now joyfully shares her passion with her daughter, both students at Dancenter.

"Becoming part of the Dancenter community has been a life-changing experience for me. That sounds grand, but it really has! It is a truly inclusive community where I have been welcomed from the start, despite being a total beginner who wanted to try something new, and give myself a challenge.

I was so scared at my first lesson, strangers and a studio full of dancers and mirrors… but Ms Sabra encouraged me & I felt everyone was treated equally. Later I heard the phrase from Ms Danielle that all that matters is to ‘turn up and try’. For me the blend of music and dance and a sense of being part of a group of like-minded people who all care has been fantastic. We are all shapes, sizes, backgrounds and nationalities. That is rare and lovely. As is the opportunity to try so many dance styles that are on offer.

The teachers are simply brilliant and each time I leave class I have a smile on my face and a spring in my step. Being part of the annual show was thrilling - the professionalism with which the Dancenter team approached the event and preparations was incredible and so memorable to be part of.

Ms Linh has been visionary in creating this space and community. I am deeply grateful to her. I just wish I could come to class every day!"
